The Galway Cartoon Festival is an international celebration of funny drawings, hosted in Ireland's most sociable city.
Last year we exhibited over 100 cartoons from around Ireland and the world. This year it'll be bigger and better. We're holding an exhibition to coincide with the 100th anniversary of the end of the First World War, and we'll also be doing something to celebrate the 100th anniversary of Poland's independence. So we'll have guests from France and Poland, as well as solo shows and talks by well-known Irish cartoonists, and some historical cartoons too.
Our main exhibition is open to submissions from Ireland and abroad, please get in touch if you'd like to be in it. There may be prizes...
But as well as exhibitions, we want to do things to get people involved with cartooning. There will be workshops, talks, discussions, even games - for children and for adults. We're interested in meeting people who'd like to contribute in this way too.
